UK ISP publishes growth reaching 1.48 million broadband users

Internet service provider (ISP) and mobile operator Vodafone UK recently posted its second quarter results for the 2025 financial year.

The results revealed that it had experienced a rise of 50,000 customers for its fixed line broadband service, taking it to a grand total of 1.477 million users.

However, its mobile customer base continued to fall in comparison to the quarter before. In Q1 (quarter one), it fell by 71,000 customers, and in Q2 (quarter two) by 93,000, taking it to 18.474 million in total.

Regarding the fixed UK broadband service it supplies, the ISP is continuing to report solid growth. The quarterly addition of another 50,000 customers is attributed in part to it being readily available on two major UK networks: CityFibre and Openreach.

Its extensive service has seen Vodafone UK’s full fibre to the premises (FTTP) coverage extend its reach now to a total of 17.3 million premises across the nation – marking a 16.2 million uptick on Q1.

Looking at the operator’s mobile customer base in detail, Vodafone UK has reported a quarterly drop of 6,000 Pay Monthly customers compared to a 29,000 decline in Q1. This is alongside a fall of 87,000 for Prepaid and Pay as You Go (PAYG) customers compared to a 42,000 decrease in Q1.

However, it is worth noting that the sharper drop published in the report for Q2 was driven by a high volume of lower business contract disconnections and part of the customer base for mobile use being reclassified to Internet of Things (IoT).
