Nokia reveals automated fibre rollout platform
Finnish multinational telecoms leader Nokia recently announced a new digital platform, with services, called Broadband Easy.
The freshly launched product is designed to improve the way industry operators streamline and accelerate the rolling out of fibre broadband.
The newly unveiled digital platform offers operators complete control and visibility of the whole fibre deployment process. Artificial intelligence (AI) models and advanced automation ensure build design, installation and budget for rollout projects are optimised.
Operators can employ Broadband Easy to effectively manage the fibre deployment process centrally while controlling subcontractors and mitigating any risks. Further automation features also work to optimise field activities and design, thanks to real-time data exchanges that certify the fibre plant and generate more accurate data on inventory.
Nokia’s Broadband Easy also employs AI models to improve the installations’ quality. It uses machine learning to verify component installation, controls ports with allocated subscribers and provides on-site guidance and training to telecoms field technicians.
Nokia’s president for fixed networks, Sandy Motley, commented that the new solution will make fibre deployments faster, easier and more affordable for companies to roll out, adding:
“By combining our deep expertise in fibre network design and deployment with cutting-edge automation and AI, we’re helping operators significantly cut costs and rollout times—making high-speed internet access a reality for more communities, sooner.”
Broadband Easy from Nokia empowers industry operators to entirely digitalise the deployment of fibre networks, supplying a platform with modules that integrate into IT stacks with ease.
