Log in issues and how to fix them

Sometimes, the smallest IT problems can have the biggest impact on your business.

If you power on your computer, only to find you can’t log in, how are you supposed to start working?

Having problems logging on can call a halt on a workday before it even begins, and becomes even more stressful at busy times or when a deadline looms.

The good news is that log in troubles can often be easily overcome. In this blog, we’ll look at some of the common causes of log in issues, and ways you can solve them to get back on track.

When your log in fails, always double check your credentials, including both your username and password. If credentials are starred out to stay private, clicking on the eye icon can unhide them. A common cause of incorrect logins is the caps lock. This can cause havoc with case-sensitive passwords.

Password expiration can also be an issue. You may have received an email to update your password and forgotten. Access your account via a device you can access, such as your smartphone, and find the email, following the instructions to then reset your password.

If you have attempted to access your device multiple times without success, you may get locked out. In some cases, the time-lock only lasts for an hour, but sometimes, it requires your user rights to be reinstated, and your device password to be reset by a staff member in charge of IT.
